Szanne Valadon
15 January - 26 May 2025
Temporary exhibition
Gallery 2, level 6
CENTRE Pompidou, Paris
The Centre Pompidou is devoting a monograph to
Suzanne Valadon (1865-1938), a bold and iconic
artist, and one of the most important of her generation.
She was on the fringes of the dominant trends of her
time - cubism and abstract art were in their infancy,
while she ardently defended the need to paint reality -
placing the nude, both female and male, at the centre
of her work and depicting bodies without artifice or
voyeurism.
The exhibition showcases this exceptional figure and
highlights her pioneering, but often underestimated,
role in the birth of artistic modernity. It reveals the
great freedom of this artist, who did not really adhere
to any particular movement, except perhaps her own.

What Stands Behind the Flowers
May 11- September 27, 2025
MoMA Museum, New York
In the spring and summer of 1919 and 1920, during a
period of intense engagement with nature, artist
Hilma af Klint drew flowers almost every day. “I will
try,” she wrote, “to grasp the flowers of the earth.”
This exhibition focuses on a recently discovered
portfolio of drawings—jewel-toned watercolors made
by a keen-eyed naturalist, attuned to the rhythms and
bounty of the blooming season.
Af Klint imagined her portfolio as an atlas—or in
botanical terms a flora—that details the plants of
Sweden, where she lived and worked.
“I have shown, that there is a connection between the
plant world and the world of the soul.”
Hilma af Klint

PICASSO:
The Three Dancers
17 September 2025 - Spring 2026
Tate Modern
Exhibition
Agony and ecstasy go hand-in-hand in Pablo Picasso’s
exuberant masterpiece The Three Dancers. A milestone in
modern art from 1925, this painting now forms the
centrepiece of an exhibition celebrating the work’s
centenary.
For Picasso, The Three Dancers marked a radical break
away from his serene, classical phase and the beginning of
a new period of emotional violence and expressionist
distortion. It sits at a crossroads between madness,
philosophy and the avant-garde: a place where identity is
disrupted and the body itself is at stake. Tate Modern’s
exhibition tells the story of this landmark painting through a
selection of key works from across Picasso’s career,
exploring themes of sex, death, and the politics of dance.
